BASIC FUNCTION:
- To assist in the set up and maintenance of a camp program for the County of Brant.
- To organize and implement games, arts and crafts for the camp program.
- To provide a quality program experience to children reflecting the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development.
- To have an understanding of child development and foster the healthy child development of campers.
- To support the objectives and philosophies of the Summer Camp as established by the Community Services Department through quality programming, leadership and excellent public and staff relations.
- To display knowledge, skills and abilities which provide competent leadership in specific camp activities.
- To assist in the design, promotion and implementation of the Camp Programs, provide LIT/Volunteers development, guidance and opportunities.
- To be available as a knowledgeable resource to the participants, parents/guardians and staff.
- To ensure the protection and safety of the public that will participate in the Camp program and use the community facilities.
- To arrive at the facility 15 minutes prior to the start of the programs to set up for the camp participants.

- To display knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to LITs/Volunteers throughout the summer.
- To provide resources and knowledge to include active lifestyle components within the daily camp activities for the participants.
- To attend and participate in all staff training programs.
- To maintain a good working relationship with the other County of Brant sponsored programs.
- To report any potential safety hazards, accidents or problems immediately to the Senior Leaders
- To assist in the duties outlined by the Senior Leaders and Recreation Coordinator.
- To present oneself as a positive role model for all staff and campers.
- To take responsibility of any problem that may arise during a designated period and deal with each accordingly.
- To respond promptly to all County communications, within 24 hours.
- To provide feedback to the Senior Leaders for the camp year-end report.
- To respect all County of Brant Facilities and maintain a clean camp environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C & AED.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Records check
- HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification
- Experience working with children and experience in program area.
- Organizational and communication skills.
- Exhibits a high degree of initiative and self-direction.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast passed team environment and independently.
- Dedicated to a high degree of professionalism and seeing standards of excellence.
