Minimum Qualifications:
- Secondary school education
- Valid Truck and Coach Technician (310T) certificate and Automotive Service Technician (310S) certificate
- 4-5 years of experience working on light vehicles, heavy trucks and equipment
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy and winter maintenance equipment
- Good technical and mechanical skills with strong knowledge of parts and repairs of heavy equipment
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable abstract
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, demonstrating superior customer service skills
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Demonstrated safe work practices (in compliance with applicable legislation, i.e. Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7, County of Brant Health & Safety Policies & Procedures, etc.)
- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (421A)
- DZ endorsement
- Municipal experience
- Experience with hydraulic systems
- Maintain and repair a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment
- Conducts vehicle inspections in accordance with provincial and municipal requirements
- Complete all documentation required to generate a complete and accurate maintenance log, including but not limited to the vehicle daily logbook and service repair sheets, for all vehicles and equipment that are serviced or maintained
- Respond to equipment break downs outside of normal working hours as required
- Complete maintenance and housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and organized worksite
- Oversee the work of an apprentice if required
- Other duties as assigned
