The County of Brant is currently recruiting for the following positions to support the Municipal and School Board Election to be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, including advance voting between October 19, 2026 and October 26, 2026.

Voter Assistance Location Assistant
- Reports to the Clerk or Designate
- Advance Voting Days: $250.00 per day for full day at a Voter Assistance Location
- Election Day: $325 per day for full day at Voter Assistance Location
- $50.00 for one (1) mandatory training session, to take place between October 13 – 16
Floating Voter Assistance Location Assistant
- Reports to the Clerk or Designate
- Minimum three (3) hours paid per day while on standby
- Paid for hours worked at $25.00 per hour up to maximum $250.00 per day on Advance Voting Days and up to maximum $325.00 per day on Election Day
- Mileage reimbursement provided when travel between multiple locations is required
- $50.00 for one (1) mandatory training session, to take place between October 13 - 16
Purpose of Position
- Perform duties as assigned for the conduct of the election in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
- Support electors attending Voter Assistance Locations during the voting period.
- Assist members of the public with voter registration, voter information, and access to the online voting system.
- Ensure electors receive courteous, professional, and accessible customer service throughout the voting process.
Responsibilities
- Attend assigned Voter Assistance Location thirty (30) minutes prior to location opening.
- Assist with setting up and preparing the Voter Assistance Location for daily operations.
- Welcome and assist electors attending the location.
- Verify elector identification and supporting documentation, where required.
- Assist electors with voter registration and updates to voter information.
- Provide information and guidance regarding the online voting process.
- Assist electors in accessing the online voting platform using the provided technology.
- Answer general questions from the public regarding the election process.
- Help maintain a safe, accessible, and orderly environment.
- Assist with election-related forms and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Hours of Work
- Voter Assistance Locations will operate between October 19 and October 26, 2026.
- Most locations will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with staff scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- On Election Day (October 26, 2026), staff will generally be scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Knowledge and Skills
- Customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable using computers, online systems, and basic technology.
- Previous election experience is an asset.
- Must attend and successfully complete mandatory election training.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to travel between voting locations
- Must be available to work on Election Day, October 26, 2026.
