Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary school education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years of related administrative support experience or equivalent work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to perform in a professional and thorough manner with a minimum of supervision
- Strong judgement in handling both sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work in a fast paced, highly regulated, team environment
- Demonstrate safe work practices
- Proof of mandatory immunization as specified by the Ontario Ambulance Act
- Acceptable Police Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Valid G Driver’s License and Acceptable Driver’s Abstract
- Knowledgeable in medical operations and terminology of medical equipment
- Working knowledge of Paramedic computer software programs iMEDIC, eSchedule, and Prehos
- Current First Aid/ CPR certificate
- To provide back up, clerical and administrative support services to Administrative Assistants, Paramedic Chief, and Deputy Chief’s.
- Daily maintenance of scheduling and filling shifts for all staff through eSchedule.
- Reception duties for the department, including answering the telephone, transferring calls, relaying messages and general office duties.
- Work collaboratively with Community Paramedicine programs team members and partners to help with administrative duties which may include organization of seniors programs, mass CPR events, mall displays, post-surgical visits, school information sessions, media events, remote home monitoring, physician letters, requesting physician orders etc.
- Function within innovative programs including palliative, COVID-19 care and assessment, immunization, mental health, chronic disease remote monitoring, youth, downtown outreach, CPLTC, and others as assigned.
- Interact, collaborate and cooperate with members of the health care team, other emergency care providers, the public and patients in a professional manner.
- Assist in collecting data to support the monitoring and evaluating programs.
- Assist in analyzing statistics, completion of reports, creation of flow charts.
- Scheduling intakes, appointments, and meetings within the CP program.
- Filling stock orders for stations and office supplies.
- Preparation and updating all manuals (P&P, H&S, Disaster Plan, etc.).
- Preparation of Service Agreements, maintain and update documents associated with operation of the department.
- Maintain calendars and schedules for the department.
- Carry out special projects and other duties as assigned
