REPORTS TO: Deputy Chief Building Official
LOCATION: Initial Placement – Paris Customer Service Office 

General Purpose: 
  • To provide support to the Building Division with daily tasks.
Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Assisting with building permit application intake, general customer inquiries, and providing assistance to the Plans Review team and Inspectors as required.
  • Assisting with various administrative functions.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • Must have general knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Building Code Act and Municipal By-laws.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must demonstrate safe work practices.

  • Ability to undertake extended periods at a computer
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain clear, accurate records of work undertaken
  • Ability to organize work and resources
  • Dedication to a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to travel between County offices and facilities as required 
  • Acceptable Criminal Police Records Check
  • Steel Toe Work Boots are required (CSA approved)
Education: Enrolled in a post-secondary school for Architectural or Construction Engineering Technology or a related field.

Duration: May to August (35 hours/week)

Hourly Rate: $22.54 (2025)

You must be enrolled in a post-secondary Institution and returning to school in the fall in order to qualify for this position with the exception of completing a final co-op term.
