Location: Initial Placement – To be determined
Minimum Qualifications:
- Secondary school education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Good technical and mechanical skills
- Valid Class D license with Z endorsement with an acceptable abstract
- Ability to operate light, medium, and heavy equipment, including but not limited to standard transmission tandem dump truck, loader/backhoe, snowplow/sander, tractors, chainsaws, weed eaters, etc.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Demonstrated safe work practices (in compliance with applicable legislation, i.e. Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7, County of Brant Health & Safety Policies & Procedures, etc.)
- Experience with and demonstrated ability to operate road grader
- Knowledge related to Public Works
- Operate a variety of light, medium and heavy equipment, power and hand tools to perform maintenance, repair, construction tasks and winter control operations as related to Public Works type activities
- Other relevant duties as assigned
